Exactly one week after it started taking pre-orders
for the Xperia XZ Premium in the US, Sony is now officially selling the
smartphone stateside. The handset, which is Sony's newest flagship, can be
bought from Amazon and Best Buy, and is offered unlocked for US$ 799.99.
Only the black and chrome (silver) versions of the Xperia XZ Premium
are in stock at Amazon and Best Buy. Both retailers say they will have a pink
model in stock starting July 3.
The Xperia XZ Premium is a water-resistant, Android
Nougat-based device that offers pretty much everything a 2017 high-end
smartphone should offer, except for a fingerprint scanner, which is disabled on
the US model.
Before thinking of buying the
Sony Xperia XZ Premium in the US, do note that the phone only works on GSM/LTE
carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile, so it can't be used on Verizon, Sprint, or
US Cellular.
