Smart speakers are everywhere these days so it comes
as no surprise that Chinese manufacturers are now weighing them up. First, it
was the Amazon Echo, then Google got into the movement with Google Home and
even Apple is offering a smart speaker. Well, it’s taken a little longer but
now finally Chinese brands are getting in on the smart speaker action.
The first that will be offered to international
customers is this speaker by Chinese factory Kinstone. Kinstone’s speaker
appears to have been designed with a lot of inspiration from the original
Amazon Alexa speaker and contains a high-quality woofer and tweeter.
Kinstone has developed its voice-controlled speaker
in conjunction with Mediatek and uses an MTK7688 chipset running at 1Ghz and claims
the speaker can control popular streaming apps from Pandora, QQ music, Tidal
and more.
Internally there’s a 2200 mAh battery so that once
the speaker is fully charged it can be used anywhere in the house or in your
garden. Once set up you can hook the speaker up to your PC, iOS device or
Android device via WIFI or Bluetooth.
Kinstone is looking for a customer to supply the OEM
device too so at this stage we don’t know how much the speaker is going to be
but with Amazon and Google already offering their solutions fairly cheaply it’s
going to be a hard market to enter.
