Doogee Mix

In recent months, the war on the bezel has reached new peaks and many smartphones with a nearly all-screen front have popped up — from the Xiaomi Mi Mix to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. What do these have in common, besides thinning out the frame around their screens? They are quite expensive.

Enter the Doogee MIX — a potent all-screen midranger with a price-tag almost as slim as its bezels. The MIX sports only a lower bezel where its home button and selfie camera are positioned, while a tiny strip over the top of the display holds an earpiece. The AMOLED screen has a sizable 5.5-inch diagonal and a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, which should be enough to deliver decent sharpness and clarity, especially when the MIX's tempting price is considered – more on that below.

Under the hood, we have the new octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chipset, with four speedy A53 cores running at 2.5 GHz, and another four A53 cores, which are designed to be more power-efficient, running at 1.6 GHz. The signature feature of the Helio P25, however, is its support for dual-camera systems.

Turn the Doogee MIX around and we've got just that – a dual camera setup, which works with a 16 MP Samsung ISOCELL main sensor, paired with an 8 MP secondary sensor, which captures depth information. On the front, we have a 5 MP selfie snapper. Aside from this, users can choose between 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM, and storage of either 64 GB or 128 GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card of up to 128 GB. All of this is powered by a rather generous 3,380 mAh battery.

The Doogee MIX is up for pre-sale starting at US$ 169.99 until the 20th of June, but it should be kept in mind that possible shipping or import taxes may apply, depending on where you order it from. The handset is up at two authorized retailers and you can pick your hardware configuration and preferred shop by visiting the Doogee website.
