A new affordable
smartphone called Coolpad Defiant was tipped to arrive at the Uncarrier at some
point, but we haven't heard anything about it until today.
T-Mobile and Coolpad have just confirmed that the
long-rumored Defiant will be launched in the United States on June 16.
Moreover, MetroPCS will offer the smartphone this summer as well, but no info on
the exact release date has been given yet. Although it's capable of running
Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, the Coolpad Defiant is at the bottom
of the technological tree when it comes to specs.
The phone sports a 5-inch display with 854 x 480
pixels resolution, and a 5-megapixel primary camera. A 2-megapixel selfie
camera is included too, along with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425
processor, just 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage.
Coolpad Defiant is powered by a 2,450 mAh battery
and supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 12. It also features built-in video calling
and RCS (Rich Communication Suite) for those interested in these services.
