In spite of the rumors saying that the ZenFone 4
series may have been postponed till the fall, I have a feeling that at least
one newcomer is ready for a Computex unveiling. It’s the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max,
that keeps leaking and it also got certified by TENAA over the past days.
It appears in the official documents as the ASUS
ZenFone 4 Max (X015D) and it stands out because it has a dual back camera. The
design is quite different from the 2016 model, in that it seems like a more premium
affair. The body is still made of metal, but seems somewhat sexier. Specs
include a TFT 5.5 inch HD screen, an octa core 1.5 GHz CPU with unknown
identity and a 4850 mAh battery.
Fast charge should be in the cards and the above
mentioned CPU is either a Qualcomm or a MediaTek unit. The dual back camera
features a main 13 megapixel camera and a secondary 5 MP shooter. It should
offer Bokeh functionality and 2X optical zoom. The handset comes in a 3 GB RAM
+ 32 GB storage version, as well as a 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage model.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, weighs 175 grams and
measures 8.85 mm in thickness. While the ZenFone 3 Max was a so-so battery
phone, but a pretty good midrange offering, we have greater battery
expectations from this one.
