The Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 has been unveiled today in
Korea. With the model number of SM-J727S, this is also known as the Samsung
Galaxy J7 (2017) outside Sammy's home country. The model carries a 5.5-inch
2.5D LCD display, carrying a 720 x 1280 HD resolution. An octa-core 1.6 GHz CPU
is under the hood, and 2GB of RAM is inside. As you can see, this is a
lower-end model.
16GB of native storage is offered, along with 256GB
of native storage. If you plan on downloading a ton of apps and saving numerous
pictures and video, you best be purchasing a microSD card to take advantage of
the additional storage available. The 13MP rear camera has an aperture of
f/1.9. The lower the number, the more light that is allowed in through the
lens. While there are many other factors involved, you should be able to take
decent photographs in low-light conditions. There is a 5MP front-facing camera
for selfies and video chats.
The Galaxy Wide 2 comes with a 3300 mAh battery. When
combined with the low resolution of the screen, the handset should provide you
with outstanding battery life. The unit, at 8.6 mm, is not thick, but nor is it
thin either. Android Nougat is pre-installed.
The Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 is priced at 297,000
Korean won. That would be equivalent to US$ 265. But even better, some Korean
carriers have the phone listed at 100,000 Korean won. In U.S. Dollars that is
the equivalent of US$ 90.
The Galaxy Wide 2 is not yet listed on Samsung's
website, but it should be shortly.
