Samsung's upcoming J7 Max is prepped up to be the
most powerful of the bunch. This photograph of its product presentation
appeared online, revealing the handset's design and complete spec sheet. While
the phone's looks aren't much to fawn over, there's definitely some brawn to
make up for that.
The J7 Max supposedly has a 5.7-inch, 1080p
resolution TFT Display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz
octa-core MediaTek MT6757V (Helio P20) chip. The phone has a whopping 4GB of
RAM and comes with 32GB of expandable internal storage. There's a 13-megapixel
rear camera with LED Flash F/1.7 aperture on it, alongside a 13-megapixel front
camera. The handset supports Samsung Pay Mini transactions as well. A 3300 mAh
battery runs the mains and the operating system is Android Nougat.
The J7 Max will be sold in gold and black colors, at
a price hovering around US$ 311. Its supposedly scheduled for release in the
second week of June. Now, whether Sammy will bring this phone to US carriers as
an affordable upper mid-ranger, of sorts, is another question. J-phones aren't
scarce in carrier shops, but this one in particular is powered by a MediaTek
chipset that doesn't communicate nicely (or at all) with American LTE bands.
If Samsung is planning on bringing the J7 Max
stateside, it will likely have to fashion a Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered
variant. If this doesn't happen, the Galaxy J7 Perx on Sprint (US$ 265) is the
closest you can get to this combination of price and features.
