The luxury watchmakers have decided to support
Google's Android Wear, so it's no surprise that we're seeing lots of expensive
smartwatches getting released in the first half of the year.
Montblanc is bringing its Android Wear smartwatch to the United
States. If you haven't read our previous report about the Montblanc Summit,
here is a short recap that will get you up to speed.
The smartwatch runs Android Wear 2.0 and
comes equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset inside. Also, it
packs 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory. It does feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
connectivity, but it lacks NFC (Near Field Communication) and LTE support.
The Montblanc Summit has a rotating crown and it's rather bulky at
46mm. Depending on the materials used, you can purchase the luxurious
smartwatch for up to US$ 1,070, but the price goes as low US$ 890.
