Renders of what is suspected to be the Google Pixel
2, the next generation of Google’s new Pixel line of smartphones, have been
leaked online. The Google Pixel and its successor, the Pixel 2, replaced
Google’s Nexus line of smartphones last year.
If the renders are accurate, they show that the
Google Pixel 2 will now feature smaller bezels on the top and bottom of the
display. Below the display is what looks like two speaker grills so the Pixel 2
might feature stereo speakers. The side of the device features the usual power
and two separate volume buttons instead of a rocker.
The renders also show a significantly different
looking back than the original Pixel, with large chamfered edges, a glass back,
as well as a center-aligned camera and fingerprint sensor. While the bottom of
the device features a USB-C port as expected, it’s surprising to see Google has
decided to keep the 3.5mm jack which is placed at the top of the phone.
Other than these renders, not much else is known
about the Google Pixel 2 so far other than it’s expected to release later this
year as the original Pixel was just released last October 2016 which also means
the Pixel 2 could possibly feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor.
