Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the
Alcatel A30, a brand new smartphone that costs less than US$ 100 and released on April 19.
Amazon Prime members can purchase the handset for
just US$ 59.99, but they'll get Amazon offers and ads on the home screen. If you
want to buy the Alcatel A30 without Amazon ads, you'll have to pay US$ 99.99 -
that's still not a bad price for what the device has to offer.
Running Android 7 Nougat, the Alcatel A30 sports a
5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm
Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1 GHz. There's 2 GB of RAM on board, in
addition to 16 GB of expandable storage space. The new smartphone further comes
with speakers on the front, an 8 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP front-facing cam.
The Alcatel A30 can be purchased from Amazon
unlocked in both GSM (for AT&T and T-Mobile), and CDMA (for Verizon)
variants. You'll get LTE connectivity in both cases.
