Xiaomi Redmi 4a is currently the company's cheapest handset
on offer. At around € 110, it still packs surprisingly capable hardware and the
Chinese manufacturer appears to be looking to expand on its ultra-budget
formula even further.
We have no official confirmation yet, but the Redmi 4a has been spotted online in a new dark gray finish. The handset originally came out in Gold and Rose Gold versions, so this is a refreshing alternative. Plus, the new shade also comes with a black front bezel - a first for the model.

Along with the new paintjob, the source also
mentions a higher capacity storage version for the classic Redmi 4a, that is to
say the Gold or Rose Gold one. This information seems to come from a few
product listings on Aliexpress. However, feedback on these is scarce and not a
single buyer seems to have successfully picked up a 32GB version and written
back yet. This is probably a case of old listings being updated to reflect the
new model, so feedback should be coming shortly. Perhaps a 32GB dark gray
option as well.
Other than these changes, the new Redmi 4a units
come with familiar specs: 5-inch IPS screen of 720p resolution, Snapdragon 425
chipset, 13MP, plus 5MP camera setup and a 3,120 mAh battery.
