Montblanc today introduced The
Montblanc Summit, its first luxury smartwatch running Android Wear 2.0. It
offers a classic and vintage look and is made of premium materials such as stainless
steel and titanium. The 1.39-inch AMOLED display is covered by a slightly
curved sapphire glass, which is a world first in smartwatches.
It has a 46mm case that comes in a choice of four
different materials & styles —black PVD coated stainless steel, a bi-color
stainless steel case with a black PVD coated stainless steel bezel, stainless
steel case with satin finish, and a grade 5 titanium case also with satin
finish. Each timepiece is fitted with a pusher in the design of the iconic
crown from the 1858 collection.
It has water-resistant standard of IP68, making it
resilient to the splashes, features a microphone for voice commands, has a
heart-rate monitor, barometer that can indicate the altitude, and an ambient
light sensor that automatically adapts the brightness of the screen according
to the lighting conditions. With collaboration with Runtastic, it comes with a
free three-month Premium account.
Montblanc Summit starts at US$ 890 and will be available from May 2017. or two weeks it will be available
exclusively on Mr. Porter, with general availability at Montblanc.com,
Montblanc boutiques, and authorized Montblanc retailers starting after that
Montblanc says that Summit offers more than 300 different Montblanc wearable
combinations with four different watch cases, eight straps, and a host of
different watch faces.
