Anker today announced a new battery pack along with a new iteration
of its PowerIQ technology at MWC 2017. This PowerIQ
2.0 for its upcoming battery packs, which will offer faster-charging speeds. PowerIQ 2.0 will allow Anker’s battery packs to output up to 18 watts
of power from a single chip. The old PowerIQ system actually was able to output
18 watts of power on battery packs — but that required Anker to pack at least
two chips into one battery pack.
However, thanks to PowerIQ 2.0, Anker’s battery packs can now output
up to 18 watts of power from one chip — which means we’ll get to see thinner,
lighter and smaller battery packs from Anker in the near-future. This will also
possibly lead to fall in prices for Anker’s battery packs, as the company would
now be able to offer the same performance from a single chip on its battery
packs.
Anker is also launching a new battery pack with its new PowerIQ 2.0
system today: the PowerCore II 10000. As the name implies, the PowerCore II
10000 is a 10,000 mAh battery pack and it has a power capacity of 38.5Wh. The
battery pack also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 which is a great news if
you own a device that has support for that. The PowerCore II 10000 will be available
for US$ 29.99 in May.
