Asus smartphone model number X00GD was recently revealed in China, and there are a few interesting things about
it. According to China's
Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (aka TENAA), the X00GD runs
Android 7.0 Nougat, so it could become the very first Asus phone to ship with
Nougat out of the box.
Also of note is that the Asus X00GD packs a big 4,850
mAh battery and sports a 5.2-inch display with just 720 x 1280 pixels - this
could mean that battery life is stellar.
Measuring 149.5 x 73.7 x 8.85 mm and weighing 169
grams, the new Asus smartphone is powered by an octa-core 1.5 GHz processor of
unknown provenience, further featuring an 8 MP front-facing camera, a 13 MP
rear camera with dual LED flash, and microSD card support. It looks like the
phone has several variants - with 2 GB, 3 GB, or 4 GB of RAM, and 16 GB, 32 GB,
or 64 GB of storage space.
While we don't have evidence to support this, the
X00GD might be a member of Asus' upcoming ZenFone 4 family, which is expected
to debut in 2017.
