Toshiba at the CES 2017 introduced Portégé X20W
2-in-1 convertible running Windows 10. It has a 12.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels)
multi-touch wide viewing angle display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection,
a 360-degree, dual-action hinge that lets you convert the notebook into a
digital inking tablet by simply rotating the display. It has facial
authentication using IR cameras to allow you to login easily and securely with
your face using Windows Hello, Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor built
right into the Touchpad and Trusted Platform Module technologies.
It is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core
Processor, is 15.4 mm thick and weighing less than 1.1 kgs. It has a exclusive
TruPen incorporating Wacom Feel technology that offers digital handwriting
experience enhanced by an antiglare coating.
Toshiba’s TruPen can detect 2,048 levels of
pressure, giving users a natural pen-on-paper writing experience, making it
perfect for taking notes, drawing, capturing signatures and completing forms.
“This makes it nice for Windows Ink. Since the TruPen is battery powered it
communicates with the display to enable palm recognition when the pen is in
use,” said the company.
It promises battery life of up to 16 hours, has USB
Type-C port, USB 3.0 port and headphone/mic combo port, Display, Power Delivery
and Thunderbolt 3 with speeds up to 40Gbps, offers premium audio experience via
Harman Kardon stereo speakers and DTS Sound software.
The Toshiba Portégé X20W comes in Slate Gray and
Onyx Blue colors and will be available soon at Microsoft Store and
microsoftstore.com. No details about the pricing yet.
