Popular mobile device protective accessory maker
OtterBox today announced two new uniVERSE cases for the iPad Pro 9.7-inch and
the iPad Air 2. The company's uniVERSE Case System consists of unique modular
cases that allow different accessories to be attached to the device in a secure
and convenient manner. UniVERSE cases have been available for iPhones for some
time now, but OtterBox is now expanding its lineup with two new additions for
Apple tablets. The company is collaborating with many different partners in a
bid to bring a host of new, modular accessories to Apple smartphones and
tablets.
Along with the two uniVERSE cases for iPad, OtterBox
also unveiled a plethora of new accessories/modules to work with the cases,
including an aluminum keyboard by Brydge for the 9.7-inch iPad, a GPS spike
laser measurement tool, a portable air monitor, and a Bluetooth tracker that
lets you find keys, devices, and other valuables easily. Since the uniVERSE
Case System has been available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 models for some time
now, many of the announced accessories were aimed at Apple's smartphones,
instead at the two tablets.
OtterBox's two uniVERSE cases also add a bit of
rigidity to Apple's slim tablets, but they are not meant to protect the devices
from severe drops, water, or any of the elements for that matter. However, both
should provide enough protection against bumps, small drops, and other types of
shock that day-to-day mistakes may inflict on prized possessions of the
electronic variety.
Availability and pricing for the cases and
accessories is soon to be announced.
