Acer has announced the TravelMate Spin B1. It’s
the first “Spin” product in the company’s TravelMate series that features a 360
degree hinge which enables users to switch between laptop, stand, tent, and
tablet modes. The new TravelMate Spin B1 features a durable design with a
pressure-resistant screen, spill resistant keyboard, and a shock-absorbent
rubber bumper.
This 11.6 inch convertible notebook is powered by
Windows 10 Pro and is perfectly sized for portability. The four usage modes
make it a good fit for everyday use in the classroom. Acer is positioning this
product for the education sector.
The stand and tent modes are great for group
projects and sharing while the tablet mode is aimed at facilitating learning on
the move. The laptop mode will fill in the gaps. The notebook can be configured
with a full HD or HD touchscreen for easy use.
Acer designed this tablet with durability in mind so
it features a shock-absorbent middle rubber frame and a pressure-resistant
screen that can withstand a frontal impact of up to 60kgf(3). It also promises
up to 13 hours of battery life for the notebook.Acer TravelMate Spin B1 will be
powered by Intel Pentium processors with Intel HD graphics. Windows Ink support
will be onboard to enable students to easily jot down notes, edit Word
documents, draw and interact with apps. Connectivity features include an HDMI
port, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth, 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi
and a built-in SD card reader.
The notebook will be available for purchase in the
United States and Canada by the second quarter of this year. Pricing and
configurations will be confirmed by then.
