UMi Plus E
The new UMi device takes the concept of the “budget
flagship” introduced by the UMi Plus to a whole new level, we can see some
really first class specifications.
UMi Plus E Specs
- Mediatek Helio P20, Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.3ghz
- 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM
- 64GB of internal storage
- SHARP 5.5 FHD LTPS Arc Screen Display
- SONY 4000 mAh battery with PE+ Quick Charging support
- SAMSUNG PDAF 13MP 5-Element lens main camera, 5MP front camera
- MICROARRAY 2.1 Touch ID fingerprint scanner
- Aerospace Class Unibody Aluminum body in cool black
The Helio P20 sees an
increase in frequency on all the 8 Cortex A53 cores. The performance cluster
comes with a 20% higher performance at 2.3GHz. On the GPU side, the Mali
T860MP2 has been upgraded to a T880MP2 and to 900MHz, for a 25% upgrade over
P10.
The multimedia blocks can now decode and encode in
4K. Finally, the biggest news here is that the P20 is manufactured on a 16nm
FinFET node, for lower power consumption and less heat. Since UMi has earned
trust and confidence from Mediatek they got the deal to be the first brand to
launch a device with Helio P20.
Another impressive aspect is for sure the RAM
amount. The 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM paired with Helio P20 will allow to run basically
any available app and having it always in memory, exactly where you had left
it. Also, with 64GB of internal storage, there is plenty storage to fill, but
you can also expand it. By using a 256GB microSD card, you get 320GB of total
storage.
The brand new UMI Plus E embeds an LTE Cat.6 modem which supports 4G+. In addition, the product supports
VoLTE. It’s voice calls over a 4G LTE network, rather than the 2G or 3G
connections. VoLTE can connect calls up to twice as fast as the current
methods. Moreover, call quality is way higher compared to traditional calls.
How much will it cost? The UMi Plus E carries a price of US$ 199 for presales,
a surprisingly low price for the hardware it packs. Its official price will be US$ 269.99.
