Cherry Mobile Taiji
E-Ink is a new type of screen that has paper-like
quality. This makes reading less straining to the eyes and consumes less
battery power than traditional displays. That’s what the Cherry Mobile Taiji
has on its back – a 4.7 inch E-Ink secondary display with qHD resolution in
addition to its 5.2 inch full HD main display on the front.
The Cherry Mobile Taiji runs on a 1.7GHz octa core
processor from MediaTek with 3GB of RAM for multi-tasking and Android 5.1
Lollipop as the operating system. It’s equipped with a 13 Megapixel main camera
that uses an image sensor from Samsung and an 8 Megapixel camera on the front.
There’s 32GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot.
The Cherry Mobile Taiji is a dual SIM smartphone
with 4G LTE connectivity and USB OTG. There’s no mention of a fingerprint
sensor though while a 2500 mAh battery powers the device. Its official price is PHP 12,999 which is rather steep but remember, you’re getting two screens for
this single smartphone.
