Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus
A newly-leaked Tab3 8 Plus is said to change that
soon. Like the name suggests, it is an upgraded version of the 8-inch model,
likely to hit shelves shortly. The Plus model comes with a FullHD panel and 3 GB
of RAM, both of which upgrades over its predecessor. The cameras have been
bumped to 8 MP/5 MP and there are more storage options now, including a 32 GB and
64 GB tier, both expandable through microSD.
However, the most important change appears to be the
chipset. Instead of the original undisclosed quad-core MediaTek one, Lenovo has
now opted for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625. Besides having twice as many cores and
being significantly faster, it is also made using a superior 14nm process. This
is a rare sight on mid-range hardware and typically brings a major boost to
battery life.
It will definitely be interesting to see how that
scales to a tablet with a 4,300 mAh or so battery pack.
