Samsung Galaxy Folder 2
The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2, the sequel
to Samsung's Android powered clamshell smartphone, has been certified in China
by TENAA. One month ago, the device went through the GFXBench benchmark site
revealing that the Galaxy Folder 2 has received a specs upgrade compared to the
OG Samsung Galaxy Folder.
The clamshell features a 3.8-inch screen
with a 480 x 800 resolution. The Snapdragon 425 chipset powers the device,
carrying a quad-core 1.4 GHz CPU and the Adreno 308 GPU. 2 GB of RAM is inside
with 16 GB of expandable native storage. A 200 GB capacity microSD slot is
available for those seeking additional storage. An 8 MP camera is situated on
back with a 5 MP shooter in front to snap selfies and handle video chats. An
earlier visit to the FCC revealed that a 2,000 mAh battery is on board. The unit
offer dual SIM capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 will come in
gold. We expect the phone to be priced in the same ballpark as the original
model, which means it could cost you US$ 250. Originally, we didn't think that
the clamshell would be available in the states. However, the visit to the FCC
last month keeps the door open for a U.S. launch.
