Huawei Mate S2

TENAA have just shown off a phone that looks a lot like the Huawei Nexus 6P, only on closer inspection there are a few physical differences.

Last year Huawei became the first Chinese manufacturer to launch a Nexus device, the 6P, and with only a few months to go before the end of the year it looks like a 6P lookalike has just been seen at TENAA.

Many first seeing these TENAA images might just think that this is a Huawei Nexus 6P for the Chinese market, but on closer inspection we see that the power button location has changed and the new phone doesn’t have dual front facing speakers.
Chinese media are suggesting that this device could be the successor to the Huawei Mate S which we saw at IFA last year. This new Huawei Mate S2 has an all metal body, curved rear and fingerprint scanner, with the front boasting a 5.5-inch FHD display.

TENAA also list the S2 with a Kirin 960 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 16 megapixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front camera and 3,500 mAh battery. Huawei haven’t made any official word about the Huawei Mate S2, but as TENAA have already had their hands on it we guess a launch won’t be too long away.
