HTC Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10
Lifestyle
If you haven't been impressed by HTC's
latest Desire smartphones (including the Desire 825, Desire 630, and Desire
530), perhaps some of the next-gen models will pique your interest. According
to Venture Beat, this September, HTC should release not one, but two Desire 10
smartphones. More exactly, the upcoming handsets are expected to be called
Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle.
Reportedly, the Desire 10 Lifestyle is
an Android Marshmallow phone with a 5.5-inch, 720 x 1280 pixels display. The
device will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (unknown
model), having up to 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. On the
photography and video fronts, the Desire 10 Lifestyle will offer a 13 MP rear
camera with LED flash, and a 5 MP selfie camera, both with back-illuminated
sensors and 1080p video recording. Moreover, the phone should feature Boomsound
Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers, shipping with some high quality earbuds.
It's
said that the new handset will come in several matte color variants, each
having "a metallic gold trim" around the camera lens and antenna
cutouts, and on the edges. The Desire 10 Lifestyle will certainly not look like
the speckled Desire 825, 630, and 530.
Details about the Desire 10 Pro are
completely absent, but we imagine that, given its Pro moniker, this will be
more advanced than the Desire 10 Lifestyle.
Unfortunately, right now, there are no
photos to show any of HTC's upcoming Desire phones. Also, it's not clear what
ties the two new devices have with the HTC 10 flagship (pictured above), other
than borrowing half of its name.
Over the years, HTC released so many
different (or just slightly different) Desire smartphones that we kind of lost
track of them. While the first models - starting with the original Desire from
2010 - were high-end products, pretty much all the recent ones offer mid-range
features at best, and that's because HTC started focusing on the One series.
Thus, it makes sense for the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle to fall into
the same mid-range at best category, though we admit that we're mildly
intrigued by the Pro (due to its name alone), and we're looking forward to
seeing what it's all about.
