Oukitel U7 Plus
Around 2 weeks back there were reports
about Oukitel announcing the upgraded version of the Oukitel U7 Pro. Dubbed the
Oukitel U7 Plus, it was rumored to be a budget offering with advanced
specifications. The reports have been officially confirmed and they have
announced the Oukitel U7 Plus. Starting at a price of 594 Yuan (around US$ 89) it
is one of the cheapest smartphones that offer a fingerprint scanner. What’s
more interesting is that it will be available for as low as 466 Yuan (around US$ 70) during the presale period.
The phone sports polycarbonate unibody
with a metal finish to it. It looks gorgeous and there is nothing much to
complain here. The Oukitel U7 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display with an HD
resolution. This is decent taking into consideration the price at which it is
offered.
Compared to the U7 Pro, the U7 Plus
comes with double the amount of RAM at 2 GB and an improved chipset. Under the
hood is the MediaTek MT6737 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz. There is 16 GB of
internal storage that can be expanded via microSD.
The most interesting feature of the
Oukitel U7 Plus is the fingerprint scanner placed just beneath the camera. It
is said to have the ability to capture photos, accept calls and lock apps.
There is a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel selfie shooter.
The battery is a bit on the lower side
at 2,500 mAh but it might be just the right amount considering the fact that the
phone is fairly underpowered. The quad-core SoC and 5.5-inch HD display would
be less taxing on the battery.
At just US$ 70 during the presale period,
the Oukitel U7 Plus is one of the best budget smartphones that you can get.
Offering features that phones almost double its price offers, it is a great
phone for those looking to buy their first Android phone.
