Oppo A59

The Oppo A59 just went official in China with sales commencing on June 18. The phone sports a 5.5" IPS display of HD resolution resulting in a pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, there's a MediaTek MT6570 chipset with a 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali-T860 GPU and 3 GB of RAM.

Users have 32 GB of built-in storage to play with, but there's also a microSD card slot for further expansion. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is quite dated now, but is enhanced by the company's ColorOS 3.0 UI skin.

At the back, there's a 13 MP camera, which records 1080p video. It's teamed up with a 5 MP front-facing selfie camera. The battery is sealed in the phone's metal unibody and its capacity is 3,075 mAh.

As you'd probably figured out by now, a battery with this size means the phone is quite thin. Indeed, at 7.3 mm, it's not thick and the weight is a tolerable 160 grams.

In terms of connectivity, there's everything you'd want. You get Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, FM Radio, and a microUSB port (OTG ready) and a 3.5 mm audio jack on the bottom.

The phone costs US$ 274 (RMB 1799) and comes in gold and rose gold color options.
