ZTE Grand X Max 2


The U.S prepaid carrier, Cricket Wireless launched the ZTE Grand X Max 2 smartphone. It is the successor for ZTE Grand X Max+ smartphone that was launched more than a year back. The new Grand X Max 2 is priced at US$ 199.99 and is available through Cricket Wireless online store and retail stores across the country. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with stock UI as seen other ZTE devices in the U.S.

It sports a large 6-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 glass. The device is powered by Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It includes 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto 64 GB via MicroSD card slot. The device also offers Hi-Fi sound with the included Dolby Audio.

At US$ 200 price range, the device offers dual rear cameras with 13 MP autofocus sensor and a 2 MP fixed focus sensor that offers the depth of field effect. For selfies, the device packs a 5 MP sensor which can also record videos in Full HD resolution. It is backed by a 3,400 mAh battery that makes the device last at least for a day of usage. The Quick Charge 2.0 certified power adapter charges the device from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The device measures 164.08 x 83.82 x 8.89 mm and weighs almost 179 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. Recently the company has teased about the launch of its smartphone Axon 7 and the we expect it to be made available in the U.S as well. It comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core SoC.


On the camera front, it features a 20 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. As seen with the earlier Axon devices, it comes with an all-metal unibody design. It sports a dual front facing stereo speakers and a rear facing fingerprint sensor. Just like the Grand X Max 2, the Axon will also come with USB Type-C port.
