Asus Zenfone Go TV
The next-gen flagships from Asus,
Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe are expected to launch on May 30th. Till that
major launch event, the company is launching the affordable devices in few
selected markets. Last month, the company launched 2nd Gen Zenfone G0 4.5 LTE
priced at Rs. 5,299. Now the Zenfone Go TV is made official in its home
country. Apart from standard smartphone features, the Zenfone Go TV also comes
with built-in Sony IC (SMT-EW100) digital TV tuner.
With this feature, the users can watch
the live TV streaming of free-to-view digital terrestrial channels without the
need of internet connection. In India, Doordarshan is the only channel
available via this technology. Apart from the Live TV options, the device
sports entry-level specifications. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based highly
customized ZenUI 2.0 laid on top.
Asus Zenfone Go TV
comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is protected by
Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 400
MSM8928 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz along with Adreno 305 GPU. It has
2 GB of RAM and will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage options. There is
also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage upto additional 64 GB.
It is backed by a 3,010 mAh battery that
is mentioned to last upto 368 hours on standby. On the camera part, the device
packs a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. It also
has a 5 MP front camera with autofocus and the same f/2.0 aperture as of the
primary camera. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE on
both the SIM’s for faster data speeds.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE,
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, and a
MicroUSB 2.0 port. It will be available in total eight colors including Red, Black,
White, Gold, Blue, Gray and Pink. The volume rocker is placed on the rear while
the power button sits on the top edge of the device. It measures 151 x 76.9 x
10.7 mm and weighs 160 grams.
As of now, the Zenfone Go TV with 16 GB
storage is only available to purchase in White color and is priced at TWD 5490
(US$ 169 / Rs. 11,250). There is no information about the availability of
the device in other markets.
