LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le Max 2

LeEco or previously known as LeTV is getting ready to unveil their next smartphone offering. The company that was previously known for video streaming forayed into the smartphone world last year with few value-for-money devices. The company also surprised the world by launching first ever device to pack Snapdragon 820. Wait, they are not done yet.

At its launch event in Beijing, China, LeEco has launched three new smartphones - the Le 2, Le Max 2, and Le 2 Pro. While the Le 2 and Le 2 Pro both sport 5.5-inch full-HD displays, the Le Max 2 sports a 5.7-inch QHD display.

The Le 2 is powered by a 2.3 GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor with 3 GB of RAM, while the Le 2 Pro is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor with 4 GB of RAM, and the Le Max 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 6 GB of RAM.

In the camera department, LeEco Le2 equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0 with PDAF and LED flash, and an 8-megapixel camera up front. Armed with a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging support, the device also includes connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE and VoLTE among others. The Le 2 Pro gets the slightly higher resolution 21-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 8-megapixel unit. Connectivity options and the battery capacity also remain the same as the Le 2.

All three smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS wrapped under LeEco’s customized EUI 5.5. They come with metal unibody design, thin bezels on the front and a fingerprint scanner for added security. One of the talking points of these smartphones is the USB Type-C Audio port.

While there have been leaked reports that Apple iPhone 7 would skip the 3.5 mm audio port, LeEco has already done this with its new smartphones. LeEco also announced that these smartphones will feature CDLA (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology to offer high-quality uncompressed audio.
