Asus ROG GL552JX Gaming Laptop
Asus this
week launched its ROG GL552JX gaming laptop at an event in Delhi, priced at Rs.
80,990.
Sporting an Intel Core i7 processor, an
Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M 4 GB graphics chip and a full HD antiglare IPS display,
along with a 1 TB 7200 rpm drive. It seems to be a decent enough piece of kit for
those looking to game on the go. There are some extra features such as
BatteryBoost for better battery life and Gamefirst III technology to lessen
lag.
While we're on the fence about Rs.
80,990 being a mainstream price point for a gaming laptop, and that Asus'
decision to demo old games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (which runs
fine on an entry-level MacBook Air) seemed even more odd. Nonetheless it's
heartening to see laptop manufacturers taking gamers more seriously, despite
attempts that appear misdirected.
