Smartisan
has officially launched its second ever smartphone today called the Smartisan
U1. The U1 is targeted at younger users looking for a budget friendly
smartphone. The new device looks a lot like the iPhone 5S but with a pure white
plastic body and three front capacitive touch keys instead of a physical home
button/fingerprint sensor. The body of the device measures only 9 mm thin and
will be available in 7 different back cover color variants –red, orange,
yellow, green, light blue, blue, and purple.
The
U1 features by 5.5-inch 1080p TFT Sharp AUO display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615
64-bit octa-core processor, either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage, a
13-megapixel f/2.2 BSI sensor rear camera, a 4.91-megapixel front-facing
camera, 4G LTE connectivity, and will feature the company’s new Smartisan 2.0
Android-based operating system.
The
Smartisan U1 are now available through select retailers as well as the
company’s own website. It will be priced at 899 Yuan for the 16 GB variant while
the 32 GB variant will cost 999 Yuan.
